I picked up some art skills from reading a few "how to draw" books.
Perspective Made Easy by Ernest R. Norling,
Tezuka School of Animation: Animals In Motion by Osamu Tezuka
I don't remember the rest.
Oh, and the animation styles of Genndy Tartakovsky and Craig McCracken are quite good too.
I guess I just have a thing for colorful retro-style illustration and animation.
And the retro but grotesque art of John Kricfalusi of Ren and Stimpy fame.
